Looking to buy my soon to be 17 year old son a Mk5 fiesta 1.25 fiesta.....What problems/faults should I be looking out for ?
I know MK4 Escorts and focus's inside out but im at a loss on the MK5 and especially the 1.25 engine.

 

as you know escorts then your halfway there as the engines are normally good, just usual things to check like cambelt history, leaks, check oil for engines health etc, however dont be tempted to buy a 1.3 as the engines are dire, suspension just check rear axle bushes and springs and also look around brakes and wishbones just like most fords, bodywise they rot on rear arches badly and doors drop on hinges

 

Have you seen many without the door drains cut out the bottom......?
