Default Parrot Mki9100 - which leads do I need?

Hello,

I am new to this so please forgive me if this sounds silly.

I have a totally unmodified Focus Estate, 2007, 2.0tdci, Titanium with the 6CD unit made by Sony. The entire radio is as it was when it left the production line.

I am thinking of buying a Parrot Mki9100 unit (google it and a description will appear easily) which will allow me to stream music via bluetooth through the car's speakers.

However one Halfords store have said that in order for my steering wheel controls to REMAIN active, I MUST MUST buy a certain type of cable (believe it was an SOT cable or something like that)

whereas

another store has told me that I need nothing but the unit as it comes in the box with no additional cables at all - and the steering wheel controls will still work

Can someone with a proper knowledge and understanding of such issues please help?

I would like the steering wheel controls to remain active and I am not fussed about price - would rather get it done properly than on the cheap.

Thanks guys - very much appreciated indeeed

You need a SOT to ISO Y lead from autoleadz it will be vehicle specific check there internet site out or your local retailer that's not halfords

It's just a y lead as the parrot only mutes the speakers and piggy backs the power doesn't involve the controls the mki rely is all simging all dancing too card reader the lot

The info BOTH the Halfords stores told you is wrong.

You will 100% definately need an SOT lead. This is needed regardless of steering wheel controls - the Parrott will not work without it full stop.

The steering wheel controls will work as usual and don't require any additonal lead. You will also need the radio code as you are disconnecting the power supply of the radio.
