S1 RST restoration
I have the opportunity to buy a white S1 RST, last seen on the show circuit circa 2007 I've been informed. Car itself is 95% complete, metalwork and paint is what we do so that doesn't concern me, although she is very solid and not a lot needed.
She has the original exhaust and the engine has the original split plenum...told this was rare. Engine is in bits but complete, clutch and gearbox are in and all good. Most of interior is in too, all wheels are original with caps.
Question is, can you get the parts for these nowadays? Never tackled an RST and don't want to find myself scrambling around looking for bits you can't get hold of. Price is 2.5k and would be building her for some fun but hopefully make a few pennies in the long term.
What do you guys think?

It depends what that other 5% of parts is really, is the interior all there? How about the body (getting the kit in good nick can be a pain)? If its 95% there and all in good nick for 2.5k I'd chance it and go for it.
Trouble is all genuine nos parts are very hard to find n when they do come up there mega moneys but for that money it's worth a go . Not like you gotta pay anyone to sort the body n paint if that's what you do.
as said, check out www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk very helpful site with lots of friendly people.
Plenty of people braking so parts aren't impossible to get, but sort after items in mint or good condition will be expensive and harder to source.
If you are able to sort paint and bodywork then it's a no brainer, this is where they can cost the most and end most projects.
Original spec is the money maker and the mentioned site has some nice rebuild threads with people trying to get back to factory finish so plenty of detail on there for that.
Some things will make it an even sweeter car to spend the time on, good history file and chassis numbers still in place in the floor will be the most desirable.

these cars will always go up in value.. standard ones sell faster and attract more people so build it to original if you want to make some pennies back on it as modded ones never make the money back that you spent doing them up.. i have always wanted one but have a series 2 thats heavily modified. 1 day ill have one lol
