Default Need feedback on my own spec

Afternoon everyone

Just looking for opinions on a spec I've been thinking about using in my new project.

If you think I've got things missing or too ott etc then please let me know.

The end result I'm hoping for is around 480-500bhp.

Neil roper 500bhp spec head
BD 14 inlet cam
BD ?? Exhaust cam
Standard exhaust cam
Escos Small Turbo inlet plenum cover
Wrc head gasket
Standard crank , rods and pocketed pistons
200 block, 6 studded
2wd exhaust manifold
Siemens 83lb injectors
GT3076 turbo
Tial 38mm external wastegate
Air injectors
3" exhaust system
RS500 alloy cooler
L8 Mapped by ?????

Hope to get some good feedback

Thanks in advance

What are the actual port sizes?

Are you building the engine from scratch? If so why not pocket the pistons?

The head will coming off so thought I might get away with leaving the bottom end standard?

What's the benefits of pocketing the pistons?

Pot luck to be honest.

Mine is only dead because I over reved it and spun the shells.

I would use the TT T38 with billet comp wheel like mine, but I would say that lol

200 block & pocketed pistons, then you can use a better inlet cam
also, i'd get it all balanced

BD14 as an example, but you really need to get the person who is mapping it to spec the cams as most have their own spec. Dont waste money on parts on the say so of people on the internet, pick a mapper and speak to them about the spec

a AB07 is only used if you dont have valve pockets in the pistons and its a good alternative, but as you are building from scratch you can get the pistons pocketed and therefore use a cam more suited to what you want to achieve

Makes sense.

Also please don't think I'm going to build an engine purely from what people on the Internet say

Just want opinions and ideas... Keeping an open mind about it.

That's a secret for now

Diff and box will be addressed at a later date and I should have space for a decent cooler. By that do you mean something like the spec r one?

If your budget allows, definately get one.

Also your choice of external wastegate will make it difficult on trackdays if you dont plumb it back into main exhaust.....but screamers are

Yep that is an issue with wastegate fully open down the straight at Donington I clocked 104.9dB on flyby.
It means unlimited dB noise days only.
