Who still has ALL original paint on there escos?
Just wondered as i went to look at one yesterday and the owner told me he had had it fully resprayed, which kinda put me off but it was mint. After that he told me that his mates escos had both its rear quater panels resprayed to freshen it up, saying most cossies have had new paint!!
Whats peoples thoughts on spraying parts of or even all of an escos??
Thanks guys.

I reckon if it has been scratched or scuffed it is a better idea to do the whole car so all the colours match rather than have one panel slightly out and newer paint...just my opinion though

I don't understand why people get put off by cars that have had spray jobs or ask you if it is all original paint, you say "no" and they go "*tut* shame that"
Why? Surely it's better to have an old car with a fresh new protective layer of flawless paint than an old car with original paint, most likely faded, dull in places and a fair few stone chips, small scuffs and scratches on it?
Yeah, ok so sometimes if a car's been painted it's hiding something, but the rest of the time it just shows the level of commitment someone has to their pride and joy! Specially if it didn't really need the paint (ie not dented or badly scratched or damaged)
Would rather have a mint EsCos with mint looking paint than a mint EsCos with dull paint

Mine has had both rear wings painted and it's about to go in to get the front bumper/ bonnet painted as they are stonechipped badly.
doesn't bother me at all that it's not original paint, I would rather see a smooth bonnet than a stonechipped one.

hmmm...awkward debate. Personally, it wouldnt bother me on a 13-15k escos...over that id expect it to have been looked after SO WELL that it wouldnt/shouldnt need have needed paint. Main thing imo is panels, paint really is just cosmetic.
What you want to be weiry about is if its had panels replaced more than having had a respray!!! even then i wouldnt be bothered if it had been done properly but obviously if it had a hard smack at some point and had not been done properly or outside of insurance just to bodge it could be a bit bent
Would rather have a car that had a lick of fresh paint then have to worry about spending another Ł1500 myself on a blowover at a later date!!!
Althou i can do it myself so obviously costs me just paint and materials

nearly all escorts have been painted at some stage
under 25k miles you may get original paint, but they are very prone at the front to stonechips
a friend of mine has just bought a black mint 1 owner original paint but they are very hard to find
as long as its a good job it does not really matter
