Default focus mk1 zetec v mk2 sport

We have an 05 mk1 1.6 zetec focus with 68k on the clock in very good condition..
We have been looking at used mk2 focus but 1.8 models..
So we need advice..
We have seen an 06 focus 1.8 sport genuine 60k on the clock at £3.5k..
We have not seen the car but going to look on wednesday.
We are thinking of px plus £2k cash..
But is its a wise move etc
Also what is the diff between a zetec and sport....we the sport is a slighty bigger engine as thats what we need as we tour scotland a lot with 3 dogs entow.
Is the deal worth it and what are we looking at when we go to see it n test drive it..

Don't quote me on this but I've always been led to believe that the zetec, sport etc is the trim package, I.e some others are Ghia, Titanium/X etc..

The sport may have stiffer springs or bigger alloys etc but again I'm just assuming as that would seem 'sporty' to some.

I'm sure someone can be abit more definite for you tho.

Also, if its petrol then it will probably be a duratec engine.

I have a mk2 zetec '06, 79k, 3dr, 1.6 petrol focus and its been a great car.

We have decided to keep with the mk1 and spend a few bob on it...
Full run down of expenditure is in the ford focus link.
Would appreciate any info on anything else we should do to the car.....

I had an 05 plate focus edge 1.8, last of the line jobs with rear discs and 16s. Was a great car but not interesting enough for me.

Its not case of interesting....
Its the practcality of the car, the guy who did the parts etc said its structurally sound underneath is fine no problems....
So its a case of spending a few hundred to a few thousand...
Also like i said it sounds and feels better already....
