Wasn't there but sin some pics, any one see the crash and how is the car?? Any one on hear no the car? Not sin a labbatts car no6 before, only sin one painted with no3 or no10.
we watched it happen yesterday, the 405 tried squeezing down the inside into cascades and the 500 must not have seen him and turned in. Not too bad really, think the 405 came off worse, seemed to loose drive somehow hand had to be towed. The 500 did a few more laps, caught the back of the pack and overtook a few but then retired because the wheel tyre was catching the arch. Just a new quarter required i think.
Its not to bad looks like the harvey car if so its had a partial qtr on that side already done when martin johnson lost it in the rain at bruntingthorpe quite a few years ago went into the trees backward
I did a bit of bashing to get the door to shut and to stop the wheel from catching
The quater will repair easy enough
the owner ( Paul smith ) owns a top class body shop so will fix it no problems
Tim Harvey drove the car today and came from the back of the grid to take a 3rd place , it was a fantastic race
Simon Garad ( the LUI rs500 retired with turbo issues )
Graham Wait ( Cam shiping rs500 finished with no issues , but was steady due to a brand new engine )

Great to see the 500's doing well. Do u think the 500's can take some wins next year Paul?
The rs500 will struugle to beat super tourers mate as there corner speed is twice that of a 500
they are totaly different cars , but placed together to enable a full grid so there series can be run
realy they shouldnt be together as the 500s are so much quicker down the straights , but so much slower round the corners
It does make for great racing tho
sadly tho due to the above it is more likley they will come together as the tourers can also out brake the rs500s
This accident wasnt Paul Smiths fault tho , Mr Watts ( in the super tourer ) went for a space that just wasnt there and hit Paul in the 500 , There was some very harsh words in the pits , lol

Whoever was driving the rs500 on Sunday was proper pee'd off with the 406 driver... ( understandably )
Was a very entertaining race, proper touring cars at their best...
Did wonder if the drivers would have words in the pits...
Good to see it getting patched up and back out there...
the labatts rs500s driven by Tim Harvey and Lawrance Bristow were Privateer cars , but still front runners from day one and are two of the most well known and important cars in the BTCC world
A picture in the earlier livery
And how they ran in 1990 , and are today
