Default My MK 4 escort mission..

Well i've decided after bit of timeout to build something again.

I dont really know what the plan is as yet but its going to be based on a MK 4 escort FWD set up.As i already have mint caged MK4 shell tucked away for a rainy day

Well i thought i'd start by gathering all the bits and bobs first, body panels tricky bits etc...

And a nice easy job to start with, the front bumper.

Call me old fashioned but i do love a good old one off big mouth front bumper

Interesting approach, Marc. Any reason for the 88 spec? I have 2 open mouth 90 Spec bumpers I'd get shot of cheap.

Yea I prefer the 88 spec bumper for big mouth.

3m 2k panel glue for bonding but you could use sikoflex tiger seal etc..

You just using the engine and box, or are you thinking about making some chassis changes to the Mk4 as well?

Yea the plan is to use as much focus as possible mate.

IMO escort hubs bearings etc are just a bit small and dated...

Not sure if it is possible yet but we'll see

Can't be toooo hard to Graft the lower part of the focus bulkhead Into the escort and run the whole front subframe. Saves fucking about with drive shafts then aswell.

Looks like the start to good project, i hope you manage to use all the ST170 front subframe, hubs, shafts etc, i'll be keeping an eye on this one, being thinking of doing the same thing to my Mk2 Fiesta track project

Thats the plan!all the newskool conversions ive seen just dont look right and you have all the grief with the box rubbing this and that,,cant get it far enough back or whatever etc etc...

I really made my mind up though when i saw the hubs on the focus,,they make the escort ones look like wheel barrow hubsand eventually i'm going to be pumping some serious boost through them!

I think if i can get that subframe in then its kinda like doing 5 jobs in one because it is all contained on that frame,,shafts lower arms rack etc...

I have just sorted another focus now though to cut the front end of as i want to keep st in tact till last minute...

I'm going a different route with this build

Only a few boring ones of the doors sorry guys.

Mint doors except some little scabs on the bottom of one and some very minor hollows.
