Default £1000 weekend toy, what to get

hi guys am after something to go for a blast in of a weekend, i am thinking a classic for cheap insurance as my ncb is used on my main car.
av been looking on ebay at mx5s and mk2 xr2s but am not sure as they rust like fook and as its just a toy i dont want to spend much on it lol. i was loking at clio 172s but again insurance is stupid

av got about a grand to spend.

That's the one! 190 engine is miles more reliable than the 140 but regular service like any car it'll be fine

Puma. Reliable, cheap, nippy and like a go kart in the corners. Could buy a minter and still have plenty of change from a grand!

Such a bargain these cars!

Just a thought but if you buy a classic you don't need a NBC as most classic policies mirror your NBC of your dailies policy

This is for sale on Fiesta-Si

http://www.fiesta-si.com/forums/view...hp?f=9&t=25199

I think you can take it for 350/400. He wants to get rid of it. + It's already got a 2L zetec installed

Lol you won't have much fun with a 1.6 engined car

Depends what you class as fun really but for 1k I'd get something with a bigger engine and RWD, 328 would be a good shout.

I've never really been fond of mx5's but still appreciate what they can perform like. I know they make good use of a turbo! So you could buy one with that in mind for the future.

Already said above but I bought a manual E36 328i convertible to smoke about in and it's a great car, fast and sounds the business with the exhaust flap removed.
