Trying to find a triangulated 4 bar link kit or at least the parts to make the kit up. All parts and kits are available from the states but shipping is more than the cost of parts.
Can you recommend anywhere (in the UK) that sells them?

I'll give them a shout tomorrow to see if they can do a kit with bushes on both ends. I can't believe how cheap they're bits are!!!

 

There cheap for a reason, don't buy one of there 4 link kits ,I got one ended up just using the bars and changing all the rose joints and bushes for proper items

Try burton or GRP4 fabrications for a decent kit

Steve, its for my mazda minitruck, im sort of copying the chassis layout in the pic below but the top bars will be mounted differently.

 

Problem with buying a kit....you will be tied to how that kit wants mounted. ie length of bars etc.

Speak to any of the following, and in no particular order.

Andy Robinson Race cars
Hauser Racing
Webster Engineering.

Or...speak to any local cage prep guy. He should be able to supply you tube of varying diameters so you could fab them yourself.
or he could maybe fab you the mounts etc.

Just find a suitable bush, then have sleeves made up to mount those bushes. Most of the yank axle kits will be rose jointed ( and rose joints are noisy and annoying as I discovered )

This is a basic 4 link kit, parallel bars. The above people would be able to supply. You could adapt so the top bars are no longer parallel, which would sort the lateral axle movement.

The pic above isnt actually a great design anyway, wouldnt be hard to improve. And box section just looks nasty

The pic above was designed that way so he could incorporate his airbag/air ride system. He made it quite complex and possibly prone to weak points but it looks trick which is the American way with these trucks. See below


I've priced up all the components by using available sources local to me and it works out very expensive. Threaded bar ends with bushes x8 plus weld in butt ends and then all the cnc cut mounting plates etc and the bars themselves come out at over £600.

It's just bloody annoying that we have to pay so much for this stuff when across the pond you can buy the kit pictured below for less than £200

Ralph at www.componentengineering.co.uk can do it for you. Brackets like in the above picture would be easy.

As would round sleeves etc for making the tubes and fitting bushes.

With regard to the kit available in the states, the company won't ship to the UK so by the time I get it shipped to a buddy of mine in California and he then forwards it on to me plus the duties and taxes its almost £400 shipping.
I'm sure with the links on this thread I can get pretty much all of it sorted including the machine work.

Rather than making the adjuster the way they have.

It would be easier to have the main tubes threaded left/right. Then have an outer tube that these screw into with lock nuts.
Basically making a turnbuckle that you can adjust in-situ

Or get the tubes of the correct ID so they can be tapped for L/R threads and use these in the middle.
It would be stronger and handier than having a threaded bit welded to the bush sleeve like in that kit above.
or just get the tubes and weld the threaded inserts into them as are pictured in your link above. No tapping required then

That would make life easier for adjustments and I'm pretty sure I have a lefty tap and dye set in my collection so tapping out the tube would be an ideal solution.

 

Plenty of inserts available to make up the threads, just weld them into the tubes
