Default What is this for?

I am in the process of replacing my steering wheel with the correct wheel for my leather interior. Could anyone tell me what this is for and how to remove it? There isn't one fitted to my replacement wheel

It's the clock spring for the coiled wire connection to the airbag/horn wiring.

Would expect it would unclip from the inside.
