hi , as above title. Does anyone know what colour Ford painted the petrol tanks from the factory. There's a few old threads asking the question but no one seems to have answered the question. I've got 2 tanks & they're both different, just want to get the colour to Factory finish on my car....

I don't think they were painted, mine was bare metal with wax oil on it and it's the original tank, I've since painted hamerite silver

 

as chris said they werent painted daz

They were satin black on the bottom half when they left Tickfords. Mine still is, as is the one the delivery miles 3dr





I just think it all depends what was in the supply box at the time of assembly in Genk as I have had bare ones as well with a zinc like finish which were original ford tanks not repro

All finished and heading back to Fords so the uppers are correct 500 ones.

check out the reg number of the transporter, its in the same range as the 3dr press cars

 

Went for black in the end....
