as per title really, my boss was after a set of xr3i calipers for the back of his mk2 escort. ive got two sets of rst calipers but im not sure if theyre the same, as the xr3i ones fitted behind the old 13" rs four spokes and i cant see rst ones fitting behind them?

Mk3 XR & Rs stuff was 100% the same

Mk4 stuff i'm not to sure about? I know they increased them in size as the mk3 stuff is wank.

 

i was thinking maybe he'd had mk3 xr3 calipers on his old one as they came with those fancy 13" cloverleaf alloys,but to be honest i dont have a clue,lol.

mark 4 rs turbos are not the same also the discs were bigger

 

however the rs calipers fit nicely behind my shonky xr3i rims!!!!!

 

S2 turbo's had the braking system lifted directly from the Sierra XR4i. They're still pretty shit though

 

different.

 

RST calipers have a larger piston than 3i calipers. Otherwise they are the same I believe (anyone confirm?)

AFAIK RST hangers are the only real difference, as they need to accomodate the larger discs.

So he could use your calipers, he'd just need the 3i hangers.

Pretty sure on this info, but having never had everything side by side to accurately measure, dont take it as gospel

 

the hangers are diffrent aswell
