ST170 hard to select reverse

ST170 hard to select reverse
My mates got a st170 and he said sometimes its hard for him to select reverse most of the time.Is it just cause of the gearbox.

the gear cables are adjustable. im sure theres a orange/red wedge that you can pull out to reset the gear selection ?

I've just had exactly the same thing with mine, turns out it was a loose spring on the cable
Edit - forgot to say, mine was the same with 5th and 6th as well as reverse
