Been looking for it for ages, but had my engine out today and found a code stamped on the block just above where the top of the gearbox sits, on the side of engine. I know there on the front right lip of an mfi escort engine and on the right on efi but am I right In thinking this is my engine number as its a fiesta rs turbo engine? It's 2 letters then 5 numbers? Somebody help me please thank you

 

It starts with LA xxxxx if that helps

your engine number is normally the last bit of your chassis number i believe.

so it would be the last two letters followed by the numbers.

 

I bought engine off a guy about 3 years ago so no log book or chassis lol

 

Always thought it was on a block above the altinator

 

Yeah but the is only LHA and no other numbers. It's defo not been ground off as its not smooth. Tried scratching and sanding and there's no signs?
