Twin webber 40 carb or Yamaha R1 carb?
I have a 1987 capri at the moment it has a 2 litre standard pinto engine and the carb is nothing special and I have been thinking about it and discussing it with people and I don't know whether to put twin webber 40 carb on or a R1 carb on any suggestions on info much appreciated
go twin 45s with other mods you will see are 155bhp and they sound very good and they are bolt on fitment where the bike carbs maybe a bit more work but maybe better for a faster revving engine but to get the most you really need the other work done
problem is the skys the limit and my view is the bhp gain to the cost of getting it dose not add up on the pinto as I looked into this and went to a different engine although I am running a pinto for now

I have toyed with the idea of changing the engine to a v8 mustang engine but that won't be for a while as a lot of thing need to be done before so I'm after a cheapish but effective why to up the power and speed
nice
i looked at the small block chevey engine as to up the power its very cheap and a turn key engine was around £1500 to your door .
tbh with the price of the twin 40/45s , i would just put on a weber dgav 32/36 or the v6 weber 38 (bigger second choke port) and you can get a linkage so it opens both at the same time ( drink fuel mind you but revs really well) , i read that with this spec
good weber 32/36 carb
high lift cam
head skimmed
block skimmed
veriner pulley
light flywheel
4 branch
may need a geared starter due to compression
itg/kn air filter
gives you around 140ish bhp
so could be a idea as the extra cost of the twin 45s for around 15-20bhp?
hope this helps
