High Mileage Mk5 Golf GTI's
Seems to be a few about now at around the 4k-5k mark.. (100,000miles plus)
Seems good money for what reviews say is a good car.. has anyone run a high mileage one and if so any problems?

I wouldnt regard 100k as high mileage tbh. Id want to buy based on condition, do a proper service (all fluids inc pas fluid, box oil etc) and probably be prepared to replace the rear beam bushes and front wishbones but engines, boxes etc will soldier on fine if theyve been looked after
Ive got a GT TDi with 180k on the clock now, and still going strong, does a 70 mils round trip to work 6 days a week, plus taken it to the Ring 3 times, 30 odd laps and still no drama's at all
They came out in 2005 so they are 8 yrs old now plenty with 120k plus.
I had two in 2009 one had 50k miles and one had 90k miles Both with Fsh, the 90k miles example was just as good as the 50k miles example.
Very well built.
100k would not worry me if buying one with Fsh .
