Can some kind soul dig out a V5 and tell me if it needs my signature to sell a car or can my missus sign it??

Reason I ask is i'm offshore now and I've sold my car and the buyer wants it tomorrow..

 

she can sign it, don't it before, i'm sure i'll do it again

in fact, i've had other folks sign on my behalf as well and it's all be peachy

not sure if it's legit or not but..............

 

The owner must sign however she could always sign it for you

you have to ask yourself "who's going to check?"

that your sig is the legit one from other sigs you've got in the past?

just scribble a likeness and be done with it, just say you signed it before you left as you were certain it would sell

 

I have signed for my Mrs then put and pp <owner name here>!

 

Did something similar after a family member died and we transferred the V5 over to new owner. Just fake it roughly, or a PP as said!

 

I've signed it as mickey mouse before. Guess its if theres a dispute as to whether its been "stolen" and then the signatures would to be used to verify that you did in fact sign the v5
