As above really do i hear correctly that a mk1 escort set on fire at classic ford ?
If true i hope the damage is not too severe and hope everyone is ok.

 

It was a mk2 rs 2000 in black, owner got burns trying to put it out

 

Nightmare.Was he on the drag strip.

 

It was Nick Williams and his famous Escort RS2000 'BMX IT'

Happened in the show area. Booster pack set fire to the rear seat but he got it out with minimal damage thank God.

 

Was this the one that burst a fuel hose on approaching the finish line!

I nicked my wifes bottle of water and ran over, tipped it over the cars owners hands, as he had just got the booster pack out and extinguisher in. hope he is ok.

 

Nick said on Facebook that he has some burns to his hands and that the car only needs some seats and its good to go. He put his booster pack in the car and it earthed out causing a fire, his natural petrol head reaction was to save the car so he picked up the burning material.

 

That's not good but glad the owner/car are ok. Had a good look at bmxit stunning car still!

 

Horrible when you see these threads pop up, do you lot remember when that red mk 2 caught fire on the side of the road and all the owner could do is watch it burn, im sure it was posted on here last year.

 

have to give credit where its due, as a lot of people were starting to head out of the Pod and every exit was rammed but the Pod fire crew and ambulance were there is seconds

 

Glad it was not too bad then hope the owners hands are ok.

 

guy seemed shook up but ok dave rowe and jenny cross from the lancashire rs owners came to the rescue with water dave got the fire out and jenny doused his hands, could have been a lot worse
