Default Dodgy intermittent horn on saff cos

Help needed if any can.

Had my saff since oct When i got it noticed horn wasnt working only to find the wires had been disconnected off back of horns, reconnected bingo all good, a few ddays after on a nice warn sunny day sat in a pub with the wife and hears an horn a few mins after stuck my head round corner and it was mine, i took boss off (rs 4 spoke) disconnected wires and it still carried on so under bumper i go, I have checked all wiring reconnected and all has been well until just now some 7 months later a nice warm day its done same again.
Has anyone had the same problem or any ideas as to what it could be.

Lol, the previous owners 'cure' was obviously to disconnect them

Anyway, the relays ground is switched, so that is what is happening, if you remove the steering cowling, at the top you will see two brown wires, these are from the horn switch, disconnect this plug first, it may be these have got chaffed and are shorting to ground, if it continues then it's a case of tracing the ground back to the relay.

As a word of warning I had a the same problem with mine, years back, horn going off round corners etc and it nearly caused a fire, I was just leaving a show of all places lol, I saw the smoke from under the cowling so never ever came of it as I put it out. Until you have it resolved it's worth removing the fuse.

Mine stop working full stop and it was a rusty Horne mount that caused it as they earth to the chassis via the mount

Done them check mate, it can be sat for months but when it comes warm weather it will decide to just do it without car being touched.

Its baffled me.

Then it's going to be the wire the ground for the relay (i.e. that connects to the horn switch) that is shorting out somewhere, chaffed wire etc.

Trace this wire back, is it chaffed and grounding on the steering column for example?
