Default Random alarm INSIDE my SportKa! What is it?!

I went to unlock my car the other day and this beeping started. I didnt realise it was my car for a few seconds until I opened the door because it was coming from the inside! It's not the security alarm. It's more of a beeping than an alarm sound. The only way I could find to stop it is to shut the door again and lock it then unlock it again. It's just done the same thing tonight.

I've had the car 6 months now and it's never done it before, and it's the second SportKa I've had and my old one never did it. That was an older model, a 2004 model whereas this one is a 2008.

I can't find anything about it in the manuel and nothing mentioned about it anywhere on the net that I can find.
Does anyone know what it is??

Had you left your indicators on? Parking light warning maybe? Just a guess.

Nope no lights on. That is a constant beep if I leave anything like that on. This is a loud beeping like beep beep beep beep etc.

have had this myself on various fords and ended up being a faulty switch, triggering the warning sound like if a door is left ajar or the bonnet not closed correctly as it tells the brain somethings up even if alls well

Ah ok thanks! I might see if I can test to see if it is an alarm for that by maybe leaving the bonnet catch off and seeing if it sets anything off and if it's the same as the one I've been getting.

It could be your alarm has become faulty but thats a long shot, its probably the door shut switch or something small

Check bonet and boot sensors, they corrode and throw out all sorts of things.
