Hi all this is my first go at an resto always wanted an rs turbo from a kid got the 90 spec at a good price and looked good on the outside and solid till started noticing bit of rot and damp carpets so decided to strip it down this is when I first got it

First was interior to be taken out


First chrome I bought for it lol

this was where the damp was coming from in both floor wells so plated it up and few coats of galv spray and silocone

Going have do something with that rocker cover

Had to squeeze in my cluttered garage not good real ball ache

will up date with more pics soon started this project about 8weeks ago done a lot since completely stripped the car ready take engine out soon for inspection and tidy up

Erm........ yeah. The rocker, chav written all over it.

 

Took front end off to see what rot there was, wasn't really anything major part from both headlight areas had to weld a plate in both sides bit of primer and is good as new

took the body kit off the other week but left the arch piece on went to take off few days later and it basically broke off with the wing it was that rotten so cut the wing off and the inner wing was fine just light surface rust so prepped it up earlier grinded the rust and gave it a few coats of galv and primer

Also started to strip the engine down ready to take it out

got me self a gasket set

 

chrome rocker cover going black and chrome under the bonnet so already got chrome turbo cover,battery and polished inlet also got black auto specialists header tank, black charge cooler and black airtec intercooler so just need fuse box cover and brake res cover in chrome

 

well whilst the mrs went to a wedding I thought I best put some hours in the escort so painted the block and wrapped the manifold and turbo

had to tie it with a cable tie and weldin wire until I get proper clamps lol


Also fitted the suspension so finally after 5months or so its off the axel stands : )

 

still lots to do

well its been along time since I last did an update been stuck for cash with me having a new job as an apprentice hgv mechanic so my wage isn't to good but ive managed do few bits and bobs this week as ive booked a week off work all the front is complete apart from the brakes just brought st150 brakes but need get some spacers made up ive painted the fmic replaced bottom arms and started but engine back together ill get some more pics later as im turning the car around for the first time in a year! to finish the back off and bits of welding hopefully get done today! : )

Well change of plan for the rs when I turned the car around in the garage to start the other side it was just rotten to f**k I didn't realised and after a year of hard I work ive decide to reshell it the car wasn't safe and needed ŁŁŁŁ spending and had gone way beyond me
