Just having a discussion at work and one of the lads asked me what bhp means?? as in what is 1 brake horse power?? how do ya describe it??

I couldn't answer so would personaly like to know myself also

You can however calculate BHP ...... and you can measure torque, and if you know what rev's the torque was made at......

bhp is power....

power is the rate at which energy is used... or changed from one form to another...

Here's one for ya.

There are 10 steps from one floor to the next. 1st time you go up you run up the stairs... next time you walk.

Which one uses more energy?

Alex, we need more variables (well, data...) such as coefficient of friction, length of person's legs etc.. (IMO)
