whats difference between using 8mm wire over 6mm??

6-8 mm good luck mig welding that u mean 0.6 mm ! If welding car body stuff ie really thin I would stick with 0.6 but anything over 2mm steel go for 0.8 m

you can set the power lower on the thinner wire, one of the advantages is that its easier to weld thinner steel
