Just a question to the engine builders out there also anyone in the know, I'm currently in the process of doing a 2.1 zetec turbo 250/300bhp but was wondering
1: is there room in the engine bay for a blower as well as the turbo if running the manifold towards the box,
2: would I need to do extra to the engine/internals to cope other than what I'm doing
3: has it bin done before on a fiesta

it could be done, but depends how much of the front panel gets cut away.
i could have fitted one to my xr2 with ease, but i didn't really feel that it needed the lag reduction.
to be honest just get a good turbo, gtx25 should do that with bugger all lag.

I'm too fussed if its over or under super spec as the idea was more for novelty that lag reduction, being a fiesta (mk4) and being its only 890kg the lag gives time to brace myself, I charged a BMW 318is and the sound is one of a kind, I think room is my main concern as there is only room in between the alternator and manifold

This was done I'm sure in a MK2 shell by more than one person. I'm sure there was a few featured by Fast Ford and I seem to be thinking for some reason that one may have been a staff car...Dan or Neil?

Neil built a supercharged Mk1 Fiesta with a Powerworks kit using an M62 supercharger.

There was a Focus with a twin-charged set up years ago using a Jackson Racing kit, didn't work very well from what I understand but that's by far the easiest way of doing it - sourcing a Jackosn Racing or better still a Powerworks kit and then just plumb the turbo straight into the throttle body like usual - like this:
[/URL]That's what I was going to do with my Cortina, but clearance was an issue so I sold the Jackson Racing kit on.

If you're only targeting 300hp, then trying to both turbo and super would be a complete and utter waste of time, effort and money.
Either one is more than capable of making that power with minimal lag.

That's the one I was thinking of! Got it in my head somehow it was twin-charged, Another person to speak to may be Will Pedley as it was originally planned for his Focus to be twin-charged.

Well as it only bin done by the odd few I'm not even sure what to expect power wise I could put it all together and blow it to smithereens, who knows, I know the power figures I'm expecting with what I'm doing soo far so if anything a blower will add and extra 70+? My only concern is that am I going to have to build the engine to 450ish just incase on the off chance I manage that or just take a chance with the budget 350 build
For what you propose the blower will cost you power, not gain it.
The only reason you would twin charge is to create a wider spread of power. It absolutely will not gain you peak power.
And as you say it's a very light vehicle, I really cant see how you need more low end torque that the blower would give ?

Yeh it was a thought but the more I read into it and work out cost etc and time it would be cheaper and easier to build a full spec 400bhp zetec turbo, the charger kit alone(half decent) is what my zetec turbo build has cost me so far lol
