Default Import Part, Customs Q

I've recently ordered an exhaust manifold from the states which now shows as in the uk
I don't know how it works but is it held at where its landed, or just sent to the local office for the duties etc to be worked out and the bill to be sent on?
Basically I don't want to wait another 2weeks before available so any way I can get the part cleared and collected sooner?
I know the tracking number which shows as in the uk
Anyone done that before ?

When my fuel injectors were held upon entering the uk I got a letter through the post which gave me a reference number and a website to use to pay import duty, I then got my injectors delivered a couple of days later.

That I'm ok with. But can I get the parts sped up if I know its tracking no and has arrived now?
Times before it's normally a week plus on top before a bills arrived saying its waiting to be paid?
