Default misfire and white smoke ?

ive been running my engine in and its been fine until tonight i done about 35 miles in it and it starting misfiring and white smoke like you wouldnt believe.the problem is on cylinder 2, when i take the lead of theres no difference in the running or even when i unplug the injector, im thinking head gasket as theres water coming out the exhaust, I was wondering though if a faulty injector would cause white smoke ? the head gasket is brand new and the head was pressure tested and skimmed and i used a payen gasket and it was all torqued down correctly any info would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Very much sounds like HG failure, make sure you are not running hot, lean, or detonating once you've replaced it... New head gaskets do not fail without reason.

it was running hot when stationary but fine when driving i did get it hot once nearly in the red so im guessing thats the problem. Ive took the head of now and im sending it off tomorrow to get it checked. how many times can the head be skimmed as it was done once allready but it hadnt warped i just wanted it perfect and the guy who skimmed it said it didnt need skimming he basically refaced it.

Sounds like your cooling system may need a look over, fans cutting in properly?
Refaced is skimmed, the amount taken off each time will determine how many times it can be done.

leave the fans on the outside, get the rad and intercooler as clodse together as possible, make sure the fans are sucking and not blowing. make sure there cutting in and when in traffic you will have to have the heaters on im afraid to let some heat escape. its a part of having a fmic. make sure the stat is opening and the cooling system is fully bled. you can get some awkward airlocks.

I've tried both setup's (in front and behind) and found both to work without issue if the cooling system is in good order, never had to put the blowers on in the car even on the hottest summers day.
As Matt says though make sure the fans are operating in the correct direction, check stat is opening (is the rad getting hot?), etc.

as above get the fmic and rad as close together as possible and phone up motorsport developments and get their upated fan switch and low temp thermostat, they were the best mod i've done to any of my rs turbos
