Your be looking at 200 quid min just for paint primer, base coat & clear coat and hardener. Plus all the misc like paper and filler. Im no painter, but i can tell you that my job was cheap and i could of easily spent 1000's.

Sounds like you need to get down halfords and get some rattle cans and some wet and dry.

Here's my cheapo effort , took all the supplies from my work and borrowed the rest , probably cost around 100 quid on thinners and panel wipe plus cutting compound and borrowed a polishing mop and cut it all back , came out quite good I thought

Before

Came out quite good I thought for a first attempt at a colour change , car just got wrecked was only used to knockhill and back road blasts , ended up gettin crashed and sold for spares , was good fun while it lasted tho !

Mines better in the metal mate than it is in pic's.

I have two small thin spots on it that need blowing in, but I want to rag it round track for a year before I bother with that as they're only noticeable by me pointing them out in person.

My new van

Started off at this, Ł640

Ł150 of paint and materials gets it to this

All in all owes me Ł1200, was sold to me as a Cat C write off but came with full loggy and an MOT certificate. Went to mot it and station rang me up saying its still MOT'd till September and there is no current VIC marker, winnerrrr

Debating coupe front end now though and possible lower or just leave it as is!

Was planning on it but genuine ones go for near Ł300! Fuck that for a bumper lol built on a budget gonna try and find a coupe breaking so i can pinch the bumper and the headlights too, then ill debate slamming it on its arse or not.

This cheapy job cost me materials, time and a little bit of effort. It was my first ever attempt on painting anything but just read up loads about it, and speaking to a few sprayers beforehand. Spent 3 weeks in summer just chilling out and doing it but if you put your mind to it, you can have it prepped in a week. The better the prep work the better the finish!
