thats gotta be bollox, the cars mot is still valid until 12:01am on the 17th!

Argue the fact that on the reminder it asks for a valid MOT certificate and yours is still valid!

Also you will lose 13-14 days tax if you do it tomorrow as they will start it from the end of last month

However if you go in and tax it on the 18th you can ask for it to start at the beginning of NEXT month

Im not losing nothing as it should have been taxed at the beginning of the month anyway. Okay I could theoretically skip a month but then the MOT would be out and its only booked in for Saturday.

I figure its not going to be easy as it has had a plate change at the beginning of the month, and the reminder form I received still has the old number on it, as does the insurance certificate.

Its the new insurance certificate I have been waiting for, hence the delay

So what do you do.. get in the queue for the nieve young girl or go for the older and wiser battle axe they have in all the post offices

Well the fact that the PO get ZERO of it yes i would . Especially if the paperwork was "less than perfect" as they get fines for dodgy stuff they have auditors that get paid to try and get tax with dodgy shite

I recon NO!
Ive tried to tax a car using an insurance certificate that was valid at the time but ran out before the start of the tax. They wouldnt let me

The MOT has to be valid for the start date of the tax I believe.

Phil I want the tax to start 1st March and the MOT runs out 17th (its 16th tomorrow) so the MOT is valid.

The insurance is valid until October although shows the cars old number plate (pre-cherished transfer) I have the V948 plate change document stamped by my local DVLA office.

Just hope the ammended insurance certificate comes tomorrow to make it easier, but I doubt it will

move to a gypsy site, and do what you want.

don't bother taxing, MOT ing or insuring, - (or buying for that matter)
