Can some confirm that the Facelift front grill on the Mk3 will fit the pre facelift?

In general, yes, but not without a spot of (easy) trimming to the grille, and in some cases enlarging the key hole. Although if you have a prefacelift ST, or Zetec S the facelift grilles will fit as the bumpers are slightly different where the grille fits

How do you increase the keyhole but still have the key work in the keyhole?

 

i upgraded mine and have had no bother with anything being fiddled about with or chopped apart

 

The Grill sits out a bit further on the facelift as the bumper is slightly different.

Had to hack saw off the lower silver central inside tab.........

This means the actual keyhole is more recessed i.e further back so I used a Dremel it increase the hole in the plastic surround.....as it's behind the Ford badge it's not noticeable. Also drilled two additional holes for the two screws in the top plastic just to ensure it sits in tight!
Looks good, worth the effort!
