Them mods listed will give about 300bhp and a load of torque. But this will ruin the standard clutch in no time so save up for a focus rs clutch as a minimum

Yep. From standard, take a remap like DSCI from Dreamscience in Hull. Then CAIS, Intercooler, Full exhaust inc. downpipe and remap to something like Mod X. You must get an RS clutch fitted though or you'll go nowhere. With just the full exhaust and remap my standard clutch was slipping like mad. Everyone's clutch varies as to when it gives up but when you get up to this level it'll be dead via the torque alone.

I run Dreamscience DSCi map, k&n panel filter, Airtec gen3 intercooler, a uprgraded downpipe & sports cat & my orignal ST clutch is perfectly fine with no slip.

Only a matter of time moomin. Might last for a bit at around 270 but eventually you'll probably have to give in I'm afraid

What year is your ST? 07 plates for some reason the clutch is alot stronger so it may last for a while before it slips. Stage 1 it could last a while but once you go 300+ then its only a matter of time.

My 2007 clutch liked the Mountune mods, with as much grip as a pot of grease and was changed the following week. It had 29k miles on mine when changed. I know 56 plate cars running 300 bhp with 90k on the original clutch, so its a bit of a lottery.

The clutch IS just that a lottery.

Back on the pre-facelift a shed load of customers decided to moan to Ford about the heavy clutch in thier ST's,So Ford in thier wisdom, for the facelift model decided to alter the pressure by about 25% to give a lighter feel, but 25% less clamping pressure, hence show the car anything like an increase in torque the cluch craps it self and runs away.

I this week have been trying to arrange a group buy for the full RS clutch kit,inc slave,DMF,fitting, vat ect and the best price so far is Ł900 all in,the worst being Ł1284.

Not cheap this power lark!

I have pre-face and it still gave and you are completely right it is a total lottery. I can recommend a guy that will do it cheaper by probably a good Ł100 on your quotes if you're interested? He's in Ashton-Under-Lyne

It's all down to luck. Every clutch is individual on slipping
