may have ingested its Butterfly flaps, did you have a nasty rattly noise before this?

their was a slight rattling prior to power failure, all that the AA guy checked was the pressure from the pistons which gave no reading

remove the inlet manifold

if the inlet flaps have gone then you are looking at a new engine

I was going to have a butchers at a 2004 Ghia X with 66k miles on the clock but ive just found out about this and the issue with the doors rusting?

Are these issues applicable to all mk3 Mondeo's or did Ford modify the engines/rust issues at some point?

Thanks y'all

rusty doors were from the earlier range, but they also rust from the top where the chrome trim rubs against the bodywork on the window edges

the flap issues WAS resolved but even then, it's best to have them checked out first

removal can sometimes mean no issues at all, although some peole have expressed concerns about the engine not running right after they'd been taken out

Most Mk3s have rusty doors, but to be fair, it's a 9 year old car - most 9 year old cars will be showing signs of rust by now.
