Default S reg 1.25 zetec

Hello guys, just bought a new run around, its a 1998 Fiesta zetec 1.25.
Just wondered how difficult would it be to drop a 1.8 or 2lt zetec in it?
Its bog standard looking but I figure will be a touch of fun with a bigger lump.
Any ideas??

Cheers, Mike

anythings possible with the know how, best engine mod for these is the 1.7 puma set up but it will effect your insurance no matter what you put in it

puma engine is alot easier, goes on the same engine mounts as the 1.25 zetec, alot of the wiring matches up too

look on ebay for someone breaking a puma or my mate is selling a fiesta shell with 1.7 puma engine in with all the running gear and loom still in the shell ready for an easy transplant in to a 1.25

Insurance isnt a problem, I'm over 30 with plenty of no claims, I'm just thinking about making this zero f*cks given run around a little more fun.
Thanks for the advice guys, I was hoping someone would come on here and say the 1.8 or 2lt blacktop would drop straight in lol wishful thinking...

Cheers

I would go down the puma route mate I'm doing the same to my fiesta van, a 2.0 ltr is 135ish bhp and the puma engine is 125 bhp is a very easy engine swap, I wasn't shaw myself until I picked a puma up cheap of eBay and drove it home I was very surprised how well the 1.7 gos

125bhp standard then you can frp cam it, frp inlet, remap, 4-2-1 manifold and exhaust and your looking at 150-155 bhp
