Thanks for the good comments everyone. Its so good to be back in a ford after so many years..
This little mk1 is such a character and it goes around corners like nothing else ive ever owned. I cant believe i get more enjoyment driving this then i did my old cossie which i sold to cossiehelen about 7 years ago. A couple more pics before i put it back in the garage.
Cheers, the xr2 steels suit it so well,i can't touch mine as it's so original
Ill post a few pics here if you like
I can understand that. I was in to minds myself when I got mine as it was totally untouched and original....... But I couldn't leave it alone. Body work is gonna stay the same apart from the skinny bumpers and the interior, well xr2 dials and steering wheel is as far as I'm going. Oh and the stereo, but I've still got the uncut centre console and parcel shelf.
Too clean and original to mess about with, needs tucking away!
My opinion of course, but each to their own.
Fair comment, I'm not into garage queens and believe a car is meant to be driven and appreciated for what it is, I bought it to be used.. But only in the dry, unless I get caught out.
That looks the nuts mate Ill have to down grade from the cossie soon as me and kel be buying a house soon but since I had a mk1 xr2 for my first car I've always wanted another. Ill probably buy a base model and drop a Zetec in it on carbs
