Default 55 plate 2.0 TDCI Focus - good buy??

I'm looking at buying a 55 plate 2.0 TDCI Focus Zetec (might keep it or sell it on)
It's come in a as a px at my sons garage and has alloys, full leather interior, parking sensors heated windscreen etc. All the tyres and brakes look newish.
It's got 126,000 miles and generally seems to be in pretty good nick, but it has a slight knock at start up. General opinion seems to be that it's an injector problem (the knock seems to go away when the engine's warm), but don't want to buy it and find the engine's knackered.
We can get it for £1200.

Is it worth a punt?

Cheap at 1200 but sounds like a duff motor to me.
Disconnect the injector plugs individually and see if the knock goes.
