Must be some sort of clearance centre being on channel islands they always have RS Stuff but the parts that are completely out of stock at Ford and have been for years - it's a proper piss take really as they are only in it for the money and couldn't give two fucks about the car's.

Regarding the gearknob i have a 3dr wheel and knob that i'll be getting retrimmed and surely it ain't going to look any different

I think i did the resto on mine at the right time in 2008 as i replaced all window rubbers, headlamps, indicators, rear lights, indicators, 500 fog grills, grill seal, badges and so on and if i were to do it today it would cost 75-80% more than i paid 5 years ago it's no wonder the prices of car's is rocketing again

Just out of interest is the RS gear knob different from all if the other ones? I am wiling to bet that the base models are all plastic, but are any of the other models the same as the RS one?

£190 + I'd want twins on my kn0b for that!

It will sell for more than that.

All those parts will be snapped up by the collectors for large sums, its those fellas that dictate the prices not the seller, its a public open auction at the end of the day.

The seller is well known in the field and genuine, I very much doubt anythings being bid up. Looks like he is having a final clear out. Watch the DJR 1.18 model on the gold (not BBS) rims, I expect that to hit £500 plus

These parts will be used to renovate lowish miles Rs500s into even more pristine examples. A grand or so spent replacing a few key items will add much more than that to the value of the car, so its a no brainer to an existing owner.

Thank god I dont need any of it, mind you I sold lots of similar things only a few years ago for a lot less but thought I had done well back then.

Its not good for us ford /cosworth owners I agree, but if some ones willing to pay £200 for a gear knob he's not going to give it away.

Reminds me I still have a box of bits to put on flea bay, think I got rid of all the rare bits though, may have an escos quarter window seal and saff jack point covers,,, that could be this afternoons mission!

As for the prices for some parts, it's supply and demand, as said spending a grand on a few bits to finish a 500, it's going to be at least a 20k car, maybe more than double, so it's a small percentage of the cars value.

Its nothing to do with " too much money " most of his rs500 parts are hard to find and if your restoring a 500 or putting a modded car back to std then you will struggle to find these parts so when they do come up everyone wants them

I put a lot of rs500"s back to std now as there worth a lot more that way so people selling these rare parts want top dollar

a lot of that stuff out of my league.
can't understand why on the rear quarter surround and both rh side and new, one has been bid over £120 and the other still £50. with 4 bids, why not bid on the lower priced item, i know i would.
