watched this on youtube and wanted to share

 

I watched it good series although I understand there was issues with the engine on this one after they had finished it, been a few posts about it

 

the place that is in the show is just up the road from me in birmingham which made me lath when they needed parts for it they went on a 300 mile trip to get some parts when MATT lewis is just round the corner from then lol

 

did i hear a verbal cock-up, after going to get the exhaust in southampton he arrives back and says ive got the Sapphire cosworth exhaust it's not the same is it TWAT

Arnt rhe 2wd saff exhausts the same. 4x4 saff cossies are different.

It looked like the head gasket had gone when it was getting moted.

 

Yea the saph 2wd exhaust is the same as the 3 door only 4x4 is diff

 

ive just brought the 2wd saff that the engine came out of now going to break it

 

cant be much on it to sell

 

i was most impressed with the guys who turned up to "help" who simply stood there and said "does it work?"

i know they probably did chip in, but they didn't look like they were there for anything other than tea making duties and to get on the telly from what they showed

and just lobbing an engine in wihtout any sort of set up, that's even worse than when wheeler dealers did that saph "yes, we'll remove the head, bolt it back on again once it's been reconned and then boot the fuck out of it, hooray!!!"

i did like it over all though, it's more of an enthisisats show rather than money making

 

yer they only had the engine and dash its still got everything else leaters and gearbox diff etc

 

looked nice after, one thing that got me was why did they put that wanky rad back in thinking it was ok?!then tried to remove the windscreen without cracking it, with a tool that cracks windscreens!

 

The wheels looked terrible after they were refurbed

 

I would hazard a guess that things like a set up etc was done in the back ground to keep filming time down etc... I felt it was a good effort .. And a sad story to it myself ... It
Meant so much to him around the time he lost his brother .. Full respect to the man !!!..

 

Aye it was great to see the guys face at the end !! , genuinley chuffed !

 

so what do you guy's think it cost to refurb it, coz it needed loads of work and money throwing at it

 

has anu one noticed the car was never mot again

 

Just watched this again and done a reg check as I do with a few cars on these shows and it is one of many that seem to never be mot’d again. Makes you wonder if they get badly botched or the owners where not to bothered they sat doing nothing as is made out?

anyone know what happened to this car?

 

Owners could have passed away. The rs1600i hasn't been mot'd since

 

The Black 3DR Cosworth was at MA Developments workshop not too long after the show where it was “refurbed” was aired, so engine didn’t last that long I think, but that’s cossies for you lol

that was 2014 iirc as that was the year my Cosworth was broken by myself and sold in bits
