SPEEDO DRIVE GONE!!!!!!
As above my speedo drive has gone on me clocks checked the cable and it ok disconnected it at the gearbox end and spun it up using electric drill and its fine..............
So its the drive in the box been told this now means that the diff bearings could be going or gone however there has been no noise????
Is it possible that the drive gear i believe being plastic? has bit the big one or is the drive gear on the diff also plastic and that could have gone too.................................oooooooo also its not a lsd but a xr box as i couldnt get a good box for mine when putting it back together??
cheers

One out of 2:
1) If you are lucky, its only the smal gear that the wire connects to thats broken, its a easy fix, up with the old, down with a new

2) The plastic gear inside your gearbox has failed (mine did).
Replacing means dropping the gearbox, and taking it apart! (or get a replacement gearbox)
Yue can see the brown plastic gear here, next to the dif bearing:

Have a look at some pics from my rebuild here:

Lets hope its just the replacement gear thats failed!
Good luck
Edit: They are both plastic

If you manage to get the pin out (its a bugger to get at!) you connect the speedo wire and pull it up using the wire
its just hold in place by the little pin. If the small gear you take out looks ok, and the speedo gets a reading when you spin it _fast_, then its gearbox time I am afraid
Good luck, hope my english makes sense!

It is snapped close to the housing? if its a few mm left, try using a wire-cutter or something. Also, you could try sliding it out from above, using a screwdriver & hammer, as you shuld be able to se the pin from above.
Probably not too much space around tho.
If your speedo don't work I guess thet the gear behind the diff has given up, so the box need to go out anyway

gavintwopies,
What you need is a really sharp pair of side cutters and put them on the pin and lever them against the casin it will slowly come out bit by bit! i've done thousands! if they snap you have to drill m out and to do his its a box out job!
the cause for this goin is usually the diff side bearings, you wont usually get any noises, the speedo ill fuctuate then stop workin, by this point it chews the plastic speedo drive! really common mate!! new beaing i think

But i had this great idea if i keep my fingers in my ears for long enough it might just magically jump out the gear box and fix its self ..........sorted!!!!

so i have a spare and i'll hoy that on before this weekend as its ment to be going to york raceway for the 1/4 mile rwyb day on sunday
