Default magasquirt or similar ??

Looking for some info guys for a cheap runaround
basically ive got a 2.0 efi pinto out of an auto sierra and a stage 2 T2 hybrid off a reno 5 lying around, was thinking of sticking both of them together and shoving them into my poverty spec mk5 cortina.
Only thing im stuck on is how to control it all, How hard is megasquirt to build and map or what are the alternatives dont want to go to expense of Omex or similar again

megasquirt is quite easy to tune and make a loom, just takes time.
mapping is key though, best to find someone who knows how to map though, took me ages to get my zetec turbo smooth, then i changed turbo and went way out again.
£400 would get you a sensible ecu almost ready to go, on the door of second hand omex which more people will map with.
nothing wrong with a well built megasquirt, very capable in the right hands.

I use megasquirt have not got a clue how to map it but a ftiend does all that. What i can say is that it made big changes to my car and is probably the cheapest option on the market. As said i think megasquirt built and mapped properly is very good the problem is finding someone to map it.

A T2 off of a 5 will strangle your 2.0 and just get extremely hot, overspeed the turbine wheel and probably break up mate.

Ive got a small turbo Garret T25 from an Escort Cos for a sensible price if that would help you out with your project .

thanks for replies, Ah T2 il do for now as i have it very much budget build , that and not planning on running massive boost only 6,7 psi and keeping standard compression.
Also can megasquirt use the standard distributor for injector signal or would i have to bfit a crank sensor and trigger wheel

lol You really shoudlnt fit it mate (although I look forward to hearing the resutls), a T2 from a 1.4 has such a tiny turbine side fit it to any 2.0 and it will probably be making boost at idle!!

I run Megasquirt in my turbo Pinto with the original distributor. The board just needs to be modded right way and correct settings to the software and it will work.

It will be a laugh for sure mate!
Think they have a Mitsubishi TD04 post 1993 or a T25 on the early and automatic models, that would be far better.
