Ok guys I have decided to invest a little money on a Lotus twincam engine!
Im after a little advice please guys, the engine Im looking at is a Lotus Elan Big Valve, Late 701M "L" Block Twincam 1558cc Engine. Is this the correct twincam and if so what gearbox is best to fit with it???

You would probably be better off asking on TurboSport for that kind of info 
If the car is not an original twin cam why not make a RS1600 replica?
Use a Zetec engine and see if you can track down a BDA style cam cover.
More power and more reliable than an old twin cam engine
