Skoda Octavia vRS


I'll get this out of the way up front to save you reading the whole thing if it puts you off.

This car was for sale last year before it was unfortunately stolen from my house. It was taken with the keys so there was no damage to locks or doors or anything and
it was recovered, keys and all, 3 or 4 days later locally having only covered 20 or 30 miles from when it was taken.. The only damage to the car was scuffs to the front and rear bumpers both of which were resprayed as part of the insurance claim. Having been recovered the insurance co removed the stolen marker and I have an HPI certificate from Feb this year showing a clean bill of health to back that up..

So if you're still with me here are the details :

Skoda Octavia vRS 5 door hatchback.
Silver.
March 2004 on an 04 plate.
3 previous owners.
HPI clear.
85400 miles (I have all MOTs to back up the mileage)
FSH. (80% Skoda with some service bills to back it up)
MOT until Nov 2013.
TAX until May 2013.


The car is in very good condition inside and out but as with any eight year old car, it has a few small scratches and marks on the bodywork, the worst being a stone chip just above the headlight on the off side.

The wheels are standard and in pretty good order. They have some small kerb marks on them but nothing bad and no urgent need for a refurb unless you are super fussy..
The interior is in excellent order with only a few light marks on the white part of the seats. Drivers bolster is in good order. Everything still works as it should and it benefits with the normal vRS extra such as Climate control, cruise control. This car also benefits from having factory fitted sat nav fitted in the dash and a 6 disc CD changer in the boot.

The cambelt, tensioner and water pump were replaced at 54482 in May 2008 with the work being carried out by a Skoda main dealer and I have the receipt to verify this.


It has four quality Continental tyres fitted with a good 4 to 5mm of tread all round and a full sized alloy spare wheel.

There are a couple of points worth mentioning..

The starter motor is a little noisy when cold. I did replace it but the replacement failed so I re-fitted the OE item and have lived with it.

In the last couple of weeks it has developed a slight knock from the front drivers side. I've been told its the ARB bushes but have not had that confirmed.

Sometimes the dipped beam does not work. I have a replacement indicator stalk, that I will supply with the car, but it's a steering wheel off job to change it so I have not yet done it.


Finally, I have already agreed to PX this car against another vehicle next week so if someone wants it then it will have to be done this weekend and I'd rather see it in someone elses hands rather than disappearing into the trade as I'm sure it will just end up in an auction somewhere..

Price is £1900 ono.. given a couple of hundred quid or a few hours DIY this will be a great car for someone with a great history with still relatively low miles and a long MOT. I have priced the car based on what I've been offered PX and if it does not go with a near offer this weekend then it will be gone next week anyway. Just thought I'd offer it up and see if there was any more interest as there was a bit last time before it was taken...
