2001 mondeo 2.0i pulling left post spring change
Hi All,
New to this forum and fairly new back to Fords after owning a lot of Capri's
I have a Mk3 2001 Mondeo 2.0 petrol that I bought early last year and have been pleased with it, however I have an issue:
The O/S/F suspension spring snapped a few weeks ago which I understand is common so I bought a set of mid-range replacements and fitted them both to the front of the car but ever since then its pulling to the left. Initially it was quite violent and after 5 miles or so it settled down to not as bad but its still pulling.
I checked we installed the struts correctly and the roller top mounts too (they had arrows pointing to what I presume was back and front so refitted them to they were pointed correctly, and the strut looked right on the car so I don't think they are wrong angle wise) and after it was pulling we checked the tracking which was about 0.8mm toe in so we set it to 1mm toe out after referencing a few resources. Its better but still wanders to the left, I haven't checked the tyre pressures yet as I haven't had a chance but as it changed so dramatically before and after the job (a a matter of hours) I doubt its that.
I've read that after any removal of major suspension parts on a Mk3 Mondeo it needs to be maser aligned, is this true? If not does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks
