Default 1.6 tdci engine cutting in and out

I have the car 10 months now and after having it 2 months it started chugging or stalling when the rev crossed 3000rpm.. The car was serviced the next day and nothing found wrong until a week later it did it again.. Took it back and nothing seemed to be wrong.. Now 8 months later its doing it every day and all the time.. Took it in for service this morning and it got a new feul filter and all that but its still doing it.. The garage isn't a main garage but said they put a laptop to it and said that the fuel sensor on the end of the rail is gone.. But i went to a ford dealer afterwards and they said they have never changed 1 yet.. The sensor costs 260 plus VAT and labour on top so don't want to get it done if its not is.. Any ideas what is wrong??

Thanks in advance
Greg

Got a similar issue in work we can't seem to fix, it struggles to rev right up the range, then when you let it idle it will just cut out, try to move it and it will just cut out. Changed fuel pressure regulator and that seemed to cure it. Well for 40 or so miles and now its back to its same old tricks!

If yours isnt cutting out i would try the regulator, its on the back of the pump quite easy to change, about Ł120 from euro car parts but they won't find it on their system with a reg number, they need the part number off the old part.

Its ticking over fine.. Its when it hits 2k revs it chuggers.. As if it stalls while moving and bob start itself and throws the car forward..

got it fixed now.. it was a couple of broken wires leading to the fuel pressure sensor.. nothing wrong with the sensor at all.. happy days i just had to pay for diagnostics and not the full rail and sensor
