Has anybody used any sort of paint on one of these?
I've just refurbished the turbo side with new aluminium self adhesive material and noticed a very small hole of the opposite side of the shield (the part that's all black fibre) and would love to use a small bit of filler to get rid of the hole then re-spray the whole of the black side for a freshen up, but don't want to use something that's going to ruin it....thanks in advance!

 

Maybe PM Harris on here i think he had one re covered/refurbished iirc.

I managed to find out that high temp heat paint can be used on the heat shield and that holes can be patched up using exhaust filler/putty. I managed to add extra tape on the unaffected side to act as a way of preventing the exhaust filler from sagging through. Once set the whole black fibre side of the shield was treated to two thin coats of matt black high temp paint, after which the reflective side was completely taped up neatly with aluminium reflective tape. The shield looks like brand new and I don't have to worry about it setting on fire!

I have a st/st shield but dont like the bling so painted it with vht wrinkle paint from ebay that can take 350 df but turns out not for long sustained periods. Does anyone know what i could use (wrinkle affect) or do you think it would be fine?
