Hi all just thought I would share some pictures with you of a freinds Capri he has bought to do up to its former glory .. All I no is that its a fair looking thing and pretty much every single thing has been changed on it from custom body work to custom interior . And a v8 under the bonnet which should be running by the weekend all been well
Well here you go this is the venom Capri from way back in the late 70s !
If any body has any info on this machine can you please let me no so we can get a back ground on it
Iv seen pics in an old custom car years ago! Mad how it's survived still same as it was in 70's. There was a very similar customised capri local to me for years known as 'fantasia' it had a beer barrel in the back!

Hahaha it is a fair looking thing . When I seen front I honestly thought it had 4 , 4 inch scorpions coming out of it haha
What's the story with it being laid up? It clearly had a lot of time and money put into it at one point.
From what I no upto now the guy built it all by hand in the 70's took it to some shows won this won that with it had it mag featured and then sold it the new owner then drove it twice and then left it the catch dust and would never sell it and then my friend went round because he new the guy made him an offer after 25 years of been pestered for it and took the offer ... Still trying to source the mag which it was featured in but think that's a far cry now
Hi, I was actually googling Capri Venom as we used to own it and saw this so registered on the forum to let you know. We lived just south of Manchester and my dad was a car dealer in the 70's/80's in England. He came home in Venom one night and it was at our house for a few weeks, I was about 7 years old, and I'm now 40. For a young kid this was the maddest and coolest car I had ever seen. I now live in America but my dad is still in England and I'm sure still has pics of this car in its glory days. It also had a load of trophies it had won! My email is oceanplanet123@gmail.com if you want to get in touch. Thanks!

That's awesome you don't mind me passing your email address over to my friend and he may get in touch with you if that's ok L
The car was customised by Ian Etheridge of Harrytown in Bredbury, which is a district of South Manchester. He customised a few cars in the 1970's, more famously was 'Celestial, as seen in the picture. From memory, he also created a car based on the 1975 film 'Death race 2000'.
