Driving down a hill towards a garage door on someones house.. braked.... nope.. didnt wanna stop me... hit the ice, flew into his garage got out my car went straight to the house owners front door to explain+apologise..

The man is a solicitor, he was very understandable about the whole thing, obviously heard the bang and came out,, its slippery as hell out there....

Insurance is paying for the damage i think

yeah i know, im glad nobody was hurt, couldnt give a shit about myself or my car tbh.. its repairable. not a write off, dont know whats happening about that atm..

Its not inevitable, its an accident. If it was inevitable you would not have been the first car to hit the garage

And i wasnt even doing 10mph when i crashed! probably around 5mph... it was just that slippery the brakes didnt want to grip.

well as you couldent stop it could have been alot worse it could have been a person insted of a garage .......lucky for you it wasent well good luck with all the insurance things ....hope they dont treat it as a act of god due to the snow as if they do that then there not liable to pay out

 

i was at about 5mph when i hit the brakes, but where you see the drive covered in white, that was on the path and the whole drive, which i think sped up the skidding... felt like i hit the wall at 100mph.. i thought it held out quite well tbh! considering i hit a wall! ..

I know man, im gutted, still drives, just needs a few bits doing, was already a cat c back in 2010.... Hoping i can keep it, going to get a bonnet tomorrow for £25, and ordered an engine mount, then going scrapyard on monday to get lights+grille.

 

Bugger, least you are ok, if you can have it assessed at home rather than it being taken away, they will often pay you out and leave you the car. Sister had this on her corsa, got given a grand for it (market value), called and asked if she could still insure and drive the car and they said yes.

 

But it was my fault, surely i wont get anything?
I think insurance is paying out to the house owner 3rd party? ..thats what i heard from my stepdad anyway.

I drove the car home, police came etc, told me if it drives i can drive away, but be careful ( obviously ) .

Just a bit unhappy about the whole situation, was having a bad day and then this happens. just my luck, eh.

was there yesterday raping one of the 6 pumas they have!

and theres a pair of de-tango`d lights too

would come in handy if my local scrappy had some zs' in there.... wasnt even open today
