1997 escort van fuse questions
hi guys hoping someone can help, my rear lights apart from indicators have stopped working on my van its defo not the bulbs as these were replaced recently, so im thinking the fuse might of given up, do any of you know what number in the fuse box the rear lights are and what amp they are?
so i tried the fuses still no joy, popped see my mate a gt motorsport who tells me they are known for blowing fuse boxes so hes put me onto an auto electrician to have a look this saturday.
My old mk6 went through 5 stalks in 6 years. Take the stalk off and spray with contact spray.
Also the back light connections are terrible on these as i was forever having problems with the rears.
Do the same with the rears give all the contats a good clean and a play about. Thake the connector off the rear lights and check the pins arnt bent.
They can blow fuse boxs as mine did and had no headlights. Just take fuse box off dead simple and get another from scrappy be Ł15/20 max!
If you need anymore help just say!!

Yes, 2 screws on the top cowling either side of hazard warning switch if i remember rightly bothe phillips.
Then there is one screw on the top holding the stalk in.
I just used the spray from halfords.
Id check the rear light connections aswell as the stalks before going down the fuse box route as they are easier to check. Rear lights usually leak and rust the connections.
