Hi guys, new on here so looking forward to chatting to you.

I am currently restoring my mk1 xr2 and want to zetec it, so am looking for as much info as possible please.

I want to put a 2.0 blacktop in it but am reading that i should go for a silvertop for ease.. WHY?

I know now that i have to cut the inner wings, anyone have any measurments for this, or pictures.?

Which gearbox would you go for, rs turbo lsd or ?

I have a friend who says i will need different driveshafts, hubs and suspension, so my question is which parts on the car now can i use, ie driveshafts, hubs, suspension etc???

What do i need to do with the top engine mount? I have read that you can use a mk2 xr2 top mount and this will fit, i've also read that it needs a mod to make it fit and also read that it needs welding inn? Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Last but not least could you guys brake it down easy for me as to what i am going to need and from what vehicles, ie STARTER MOTOR, ALTERNATOR, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, RADIATOR ETC ETC...

everyone will have there own opinions on which parts to use, i currently doing a st170 conversion in my mk1 popular plus and using the 6 speed box, as im using the six speed the inner leg doesnt need cutting but custom driveshafts have to be made up, crazycage off here is helping me considerably with the whole build/converson and it will be his mounts and drive shafts I will be using. Look in the resto room for st170 mk1 popular plus (freddy) thats my build to keep up to date with what im doing if thats of any use mate
