Had a Surprise today (Tickford Capri Turbo)
As some will know, I have been looking to better my music in the Escort and a search on eBay found me a 10" Kenwood Subwoofer for sale in my home town. A quick email and an offer was accepted. Today I went to collect, had the address etc and took the Escort... As I was driving to the location I was thinking, will this be a boy racer or something etc and always thought this person will no doubt love the Escort.
So I pull up to where I think it is and am met by a old guy who said he was the one with the sub.... shocked was a understatement but none the less. As I walk though his gates I was met with this!!!

Number 002 of the Capri Tickford built Turbo!!!!
2.8i Turbo V6! The car looked like the bat mobile in a good way, really looked angry and purposeful. I was chatting with the owner for a while about the car, he owned it twice, had 70,000 miles on the clock, pretty much the only one left that has not had a engine rebuild and only one of 40 left on the road.
He gave me a card to his website www.a400mod.com have a look, interesting read.
I really wanted to get some more photos but didnt like to ask. He had just had the leather retrimmed and it smelt so good in the car, leather was perfect!
The car looked in amazing condition and had such a great story to it. The owner was really nice as well. No idea what this car is worth but I bet its worth a good amount.
Anyway, thought I would pass the info on, was nice to see the car.
Cheers
Mark

I have been into capris since the early 80s and have owned mine now 30 years exactly, was never a fan of the tickfords and the reason is I always thought the bodykit and rear reflector very ripspeed of the day if your older enthusiasts remember the original ripspeed stores, and all the wood was for my grandad rather than me, but as time has gone on and values have reached the sky I do admire its following but still hate the looks

My sisters friend was the black country capri owners chairman back in the day and he had one (think it might of been modified)
He took me out in it a few times , was a nice car and a bit faster than my 1300 x-flow powered mk2 escort

Love these always have! Great read from a true enthusiast. Black, red, White were the standard colours but u could have any colour u wanted as long as u paid extra! Iv seen 2 silver cars, a caspian blue car, few pearl White, a British racing green car, plus the 'flaken mist' gold demo car. 80's extravagance at it's best!
Hi Guys,
Just came across all the posts on here - thank you so much for all the feedback on the website - really appreciated.
Hope to get some long-overdue updates done soon as I still have loads more material to add.
If anyone's interested, A400MOD will be at the Yeovilton Air Day in the classic car display on 13th July. He will also be at the Haynes Motor Museum Rare Breeds Show on 1st September with "Nester" the Overfinch. Please come and say hello if you are on site.
Regards,
Adrian
