Will be interesting to see if he manages it with that power. Fook being a passenger though LOL
He hopes so. Luca managed 185mph with 450hp iirc so he confident he can crack it. Ill try get some more pics of his fiesta compleat with the flat underside ect

I have great respect for any attempt at 200mph in any car in a Fiesta its , I know the bits that fell off mine in the early days & the bonnet corners bending at 200mph things you cant find out untill you try it. Keep us informed of this but please take care it really is not as simple as it seems.
A quick look at the facts then we can all judge if its likely to happen.
The least Power to achieve 200mph in 15 years of Vmax is a Porsche with 640bhp within the confines of a UK airfield. Is the aero of a Porsche better than a Fiesta ?. Remember weight makes no difference.
Martin managed 188.7mph with 513bhp but required over 700bhp to hit 200mph after a few runs so not easy.
Martins 194.7 record with a mere 627bhp is IMO the nearest optimum run by any Cossie ever beating that will take a monumental effort.
Love it get on & give it a bash .
The hole under side of the fiesta has been flat bellied with a rear defuser the front wings have been flared and the bumper has been modified to accept the extra with the hole of the front tyre is covered so to speak
Yea of corse its not going to be easy to achieve and he did state he would like to hit 200mph but im sure what ever speed he manages he will be happy
good result, if he wanted more power, i'm sure a gtx35 would fit to push the boundaries further, not so much an issue on a top speed run.
as for Rods comments, some good facts, weight not being an issue is crap though, you need to get up to speed quick as you can, otherwise you'll run out of runway too soon.
100kg can make a massive difference upto 150mph, but then weight helps to keep stability.
good luck none the less, i should have run mine up an air field
Good work, that won't stay together too long at that power, we done lots of work to try and keep big power zetec heads in one bit to no avail! Is it running big boost? Look forward to seeing the top speed runs cars like this are just insane fair play

That's an interesting idea, I'd like to see the underside. Good luck to him

Yea it holds 2.4bar boost :0 yea i hope it holds now. he had loads of problems with heads lifting as well but think hes cured this

Sweet, we never had heads lifting, just pushing the spark plug centre out and cracking due to the head design which no one can do anything about as with another head more power would be easy!

Yea lee had exatly the same problem lolol. But after cutting a head up and seeing how close it was the a water jacket we can see why :O. Yet after a hell of allot of tric machining that ive been Sworn to secrecy to keep quiet we dout this will be a problem any more. (Hence the carbon cover over the coil on plugs to stop people peering into the recess) lolol
Can't wait to get down there and have peek, lol,
So glad he is pushing the boundrys with these motors, I know that they are not the best motor in the world, but we like them and so does the scrap yard, so fair play to him for carrying on when others give up!
